Twiglings resemble small, roughly humanoid bushes made of thin twigs with few leaves. They have glowing yellow eyes and can easily vanish from sight when they run into a grove of trees, or treestride from one large tree trunk to another.

Thorns are what happens when Twiglings get angry. They sprout thick, razor-sharp thorns and their once-spindly branches grow into dark-green, ivy-like arms as their overall size quickly enlarges from small to huge or even gargantuan, depending on the age and power of the Twigling. Both Twiglings and Thorns can root themselves to absorb ground water and soil nutrients. When they do so, they heal themselves of damage, except for that suffered from fire.
